KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — A tanker driver pleaded not guilty at the Temerloh Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to two charges of dangerous driving resulting in the deaths of a mother and her son in a fatal collision on Kilometre 9, Jalan Temerloh-Triang.
The accused, Nor Azlan Mahayudin, 37, entered his plea before Magistrate Anis Adlina Abu Johan.
According to the charges, Nor Azlan allegedly drove a tanker in a dangerous manner that caused the deaths of Nur Fatima Syuhada Abdullah, 39, and Muhamad Fattah Aisy Nuafal Saifulnizam, 12, at about 4pm on August 14, 2026.
The two victims were killed after the car they were travelling in was crushed by the tanker, which was carrying approximately 32,000 litres of fuel at the time of the incident.
The fatal crash occurred along Jalan Temerloh-Triang on Friday, August 14, before the tanker driver was subsequently brought before the court to face two separate charges relating to the deaths.
Nor Azlan was charged under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers reckless or dangerous driving resulting in death.
If convicted, the offence carries a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 10 years, along with a fine of between RM20,000 and RM50,000.
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Amal Razim Alias, while Nor Azlan was represented by National Legal Aid Foundation lawyer Mazieera Sharifudin.
The Magistrate’s Court allowed Nor Azlan bail of RM10,000 for the two charges.
The court fixed October 1, 2026 for the next mention of the case.
The case remains before the court, and Nor Azlan has pleaded not guilty to both charges. The allegations against him have therefore not yet been proven, pending further court proceedings.
