Six Escape Unhurt After Falling Tree Crushes MPV in Jasin

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 2026 — Six people, including two children, survived without injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in was struck by a falling tree at Kilometre 24, Kampung Air Panas, Bemban, on Wednesday night.

The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Melaka said the incident involved a multi-purpose vehicle carrying six occupants when a tree suddenly fell onto the vehicle.

Despite the impact, all six occupants managed to escape safely and no injuries were reported.

JBPM Melaka public relations officer Deputy Fire Superintendent II Mohd Hafidzatullah Rashid said the department received an emergency call at 9.46pm.

A team from the Jasin Bestari Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, rescuers confirmed that a fallen tree had landed on the vehicle. However, all of the occupants had already been brought out safely by members of the public before the emergency team reached the scene.

According to information received by firefighters, the six victims were on their way home when the incident occurred.

The vehicle was reportedly approaching a junction leading towards their residence when the tree fell and struck it.

No further details regarding the identities or ages of the occupants were disclosed in the initial report, apart from confirmation that two of them were children.

The quick response from people at the scene helped ensure that all six occupants were removed from the damaged vehicle before firefighters arrived.

Authorities confirmed that none of them required treatment for injuries following the incident.

The incident ended without casualties despite the tree landing directly on the MPV.

All six occupants, including the two children, were confirmed safe, making the incident a fortunate escape from what could have resulted in serious injuries.

The Fire and Rescue Department completed the clearing operation later that night after ensuring the fallen tree no longer posed a danger at the location.
