Trump Urges Arab Nations to Recognize Israel as Condition for Peace with Iran

Kuala Lumpur — U.S. President Donald Trump has once again emphasized the importance of normalizing relations between Arab countries and Israel as an integral part of any peace agreement with Iran.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday (May 25, 2026), Trump stated that he had spoken directly with several leaders of relevant countries. He urged these nations to sign the Abraham Accords simultaneously as a requirement to support a broader peace deal with Iran.

“After all the efforts made by the United States to put together this very complex puzzle, it is only right that all these countries sign the Abraham Accords,” Trump wrote.

The countries mentioned by Trump include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. According to him, most of these nations are already prepared to join.

Trump added that the peace agreement with Iran should be turned into a much larger historic moment. He suggested starting the process with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, so that other countries could follow. He even implied that Iran — long considered Israel’s main enemy — should also be involved in the normalization agreements.

The Abraham Accords are normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab and Muslim countries facilitated by Trump during his previous presidency. However, these agreements have often been criticized for not addressing the Palestinian issue. Saudi Arabia, for example, has consistently stated that Palestinian independence is a key condition before any normalization with Israel.

Currently, the United States and Iran are engaged in negotiations to end the conflict that erupted on February 28, 2026. Trump is known for his hardline stance on Iran’s nuclear program, while Iran demands recognition of its right to uranium enrichment.

This move by Trump reflects his effort to create a comprehensive peace in the Middle East by linking Arab-Israeli normalization as part of the resolution to the Iran issue.
