Trump Claims Majority of Peace Deal with Iran Complete, Including Reopening of Strait of Hormuz

Kuala Lumpur — U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the majority of peace negotiations have been finalized, including provisions for the full reopening of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

In a social media post on Saturday, Trump stated that a comprehensive agreement currently being finalized would ensure the safe and unrestricted reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, has been a flashpoint in recent months due to heightened naval activities and restrictions.

Trump emphasized that the deal represents significant progress in stabilizing the region and restoring freedom of navigation through the waterway.

Details of the full agreement have not yet been publicly released, but sources indicate that the negotiations have covered key security and economic issues between the United States and Iran.

This latest statement follows earlier reports of both progress and setbacks in indirect talks aimed at reducing hostilities and addressing concerns over maritime security in the Gulf
